A Way We Give Back
POWER’S mission is to help women reclaim their lives from the disease of addiction to alcohol and other drugs, and reduce the incidence of addiction in future generations.
What we do is obtain donations of various items, from our members and businesses for these women working to break the addiction. Then we wrap the gifts and deliver them to Power so every woman has gifts for Christmas that are meaningful, purposeful, and useful. It's a wonderful way to empower these women with the necessary items they need to succeed. It's not necessary that all the women receive the exact gifts, any amounts are appreciated. For example, a key chain - (This is a great gift for POWER women. Every woman in the House gets one key, the key to her room, so a key chain would be practical. Plus, although this may not seem like much of a gift for most people, for clients who are homeless when they arrive at POWER, having a key chain with a key to their own room on it is huge!)
